Safety & comfort
When performed by an experienced, certified provider using sterile equipment and a careful technique, in-home newborn circumcision is considered safe. During your free consultation we review your baby’s specific situation and will tell you honestly if it isn’t the right choice.
A local numbing agent is applied, and the technique is quick and precise. The procedure itself takes only a minute or two. Most babies cry briefly — more from being held still than from pain — and settle quickly once back in your arms.
As with any procedure, there are small risks, including bleeding, infection, or uneven healing. When performed by an experienced provider, complications are uncommon. We review the risks honestly with you and provide clear aftercare to keep them low.
Vitamin K helps a newborn’s blood clot and is given to reduce the risk of bleeding. Because this matters for any procedure, we discuss your baby’s vitamin K status during the consultation and advise you honestly on what is safest for your situation.
The procedure
The circumcision itself takes only a minute or two. The full visit usually lasts about 45 to 60 minutes, allowing time for your questions, gentle preparation, the procedure, and a complete aftercare walkthrough.
We use a proven, established surgical technique with sterile, professional-grade instruments — the same standard used in a clinical setting. Single-use supplies are used wherever possible and disposed of safely. We’re happy to walk you through the specifics during your consultation.
The ideal window is generally the first one to four weeks of life, though it can often be done a little later. Babies born prematurely or at a low birth weight may need to wait until they have grown. We confirm the right timing for your baby during the consultation.
Yes. Many families like to be nearby, and you’re welcome to hold and comfort your baby immediately afterward. It’s entirely your choice.
Very little. We bring the medical supplies. You’ll just need a clean, well-lit space and a few everyday items such as diapers and swaddle blankets, which we’ll list for you ahead of time.
Aftercare & healing
Most newborns heal within about seven to ten days, with the area continuing to settle over the following weeks. You’ll receive clear, written aftercare instructions and direct access to us if any questions come up.
Some swelling, redness, and a small amount of yellowish coating are a normal part of healing. We’ll show you exactly what to expect so you can feel confident, and what signs mean you should reach out.
Contact us (or your pediatrician) if you notice heavy bleeding, a fever, increasing redness or swelling, foul-smelling discharge, or if your baby seems unusually unwell or isn’t feeding. We’re here to support you throughout healing.
Most babies need little or no pain relief. If needed, infant acetaminophen is sometimes used — we’ll give you guidance during the aftercare walkthrough, and you can always check with your pediatrician.
Cost & logistics
Our flat fee is $1,995, and it includes everything: the consultation, the in-home visit, sterile setup, the procedure, aftercare, and a follow-up check-in. There are no hidden costs.
We do not bill insurance directly. On request we can provide an itemized receipt you may submit to your plan, though coverage for elective newborn circumcision varies and reimbursement is not guaranteed.
