Rabbi Tzvi Fischer

Seventh-generation mohel and newborn circumcision provider — bringing calm, careful, and experienced care to families in the comfort of their homes.

ABOUT

About Rabbi Tzvi Fischer

Rabbi Tzvi Fischer comes from a seventh-generation line of mohelim — caring for newborns at this sacred, tender moment is, quite literally, his family’s legacy. He has performed circumcisions since 2000, first in Israel and New York and, for many years, throughout the Pacific Northwest, where he served families across Oregon, Washington, and beyond. Today he brings that same experience to families across Southeast Michigan.

That depth shows where it matters most: an unhurried, reassuring presence, a steady and gentle technique, and clear, honest answers to every question new parents have. Nothing is rushed, and nothing begins until you feel ready.

Rabbi Fischer is also an ordained rabbi (2002) and a lifelong teacher and community builder. For sixteen years he co-led the Portland Kollel, guiding people of every background, and he helped establish a community mikvah welcoming to Jews of all denominations — work that reflects how he approaches every family he meets: with warmth, respect, and genuine care.

He welcomes families of all faiths and backgrounds. Whether you would like a simple medical circumcision or a traditional bris with blessings and a baby naming, he will tailor the experience to your family’s wishes. He and his wife, Esther, relocated to the Detroit area with their family in 2021.

PHILOSOPHY

A calm, careful approach

Every family deserves to feel calm, informed, and unhurried at one of the most tender moments of new parenthood. Rabbi Fischer takes the time to explain each step, answer every question, and make sure both parents and baby are comfortable before anything begins. Nothing is rushed, and nothing happens until you feel ready.

WHY IN-HOME

Why care belongs at home

In a hospital, a circumcision often means your baby is taken to a separate room, away from you, and handled between other duties. At home, your baby never leaves your side. The setting is private and familiar, the pace is gentle, and the care is personal from the first moment to the last. For most families, that difference is everything.

HONESTY & SAFETY

Safety and honesty, always

Trust is earned through candor. If an in-home circumcision isn’t the safest choice for your baby’s specific situation, Rabbi Fischer will tell you directly and help you understand your options. Your son’s safety and your peace of mind come before everything else.
